Program Requirements

Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership requires the completion of 15 hours of graduate credit. You should visit with the program director to discuss the program of study prior to registration. Typically, students taking two classes per semester complete the certificate in one year. The Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership requires the completion of of the following courses:

  • PNH 660 Philanthropy & the Nonprofit Sector (required)
  • PNH 661 Nonprofit Management Practice (required)
  • PNH 662 Nonprofit Resource and Financial Management (required)
  • Pick two of the following:
    • PNH 663 Nonprofit Organization and Public Policy
    • PNH 664 Program Evaluation
    • PNH 665 Nonprofit Boards, Trustees, and Governance
    • PNH 667 Fund Development

Application Requirements

Applicants for the Certificate Program in Nonprofit Leadership must:

  1. Hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a minimum GPA of 3.0 in the last two years of undergraduate work.
  2. Have some professional experience in nonprofit organizations.
